In the Fall use a rake to move healthy dry leaves loosely fitted into a outdoor storage composer for later use in garden flower beds and vegetable beds. Store the leaves in an outdoor hot/cold environment composer to use in the next Spring Garden. I add to my composer during the growing season and over the Winter, grass, leaves, food waste, and other yard waste. This makes compose during the garden season and over the Winter.
In the Spring the leaves, after they are not viable to make weeds, they can be used to enhance the soil’s nutrients prior to planting a large or small garden. Apply the leaves and compose mixture to an inground gardening area with either a layer of paper bags or cardboard. Add the leaves on top of the paper layer, then add a layer of compost along with organic material, then add gardening straw materials over the compost. Then apply gardening soil and topsoil. Water area and sow seeds, seedlings, and plant transplants. Mulch plants after plants have developed and moved towards maturity.
Both in the Fall and before Spring gardening prep, use reusable 53-gallon leaf collections bags and reusable lawn garden bags to help remove the balance of the leaves for proper disposal.
